Former wrestler Mick McManus dies aged 93

Former wrestler Mick McManus has passed away at the age of 93 following a career which spanned over two decades.

McManus, who was born William George Matthews, became the winner of the British Welterweight Championship in 1949 before being crowned British Middleweight champion in 1967.

McManus, nicknamed 'The Man You Love to Hate', was inducted into the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame last year, alongside the likes of Billy Graham and Hulk Hogan.

McManus won the European Middleweight Championship four times.
