Former Brazil football association chief Jose Maria Marin has been handed a four-year prison sentence for corruption.
The 86-year-old was one of seven FIFA officials arrested at a hotel in Zurich in May 2015.
Marin was convicted of accepting bribes from sports marketing companies in exchange for contracts to broadcast tournaments.
The Brazilian was sentenced in a Brooklyn federal court by judge Pamela Chen and is the first official to be sentenced as part of a United States investigation into corruption at FIFA.
Marin has already served 13 months of his sentence after spending time in a Swiss jail and in a Brooklyn jail since his conviction.
The former Sao Paulo governor was last year found guilty of six of the seven counts against him of money laundering and wire fraud conspiracy.
Juan Angel Napout, who led South America's football governing body CONMEBOL, was convicted alongside Marin and will be sentenced at a later date, while Peru's Manuel Burga was cleared of taking bribes by a jury in the US.
