A supporter of Swedish club Djurgarden has died following an assault ahead of his side's clash against Helsingborgs at the weekend.
The match on Sunday, which was part of the Swedish league's opening weekend, was abandoned at half time with the scoreline at 1-1 following a decision made by referee Martin Hansson.
According to BBC Sport, the man died as a result of the head injuries that he sustained in an assault which took place 30 minutes before kickoff.
Djurgarden fans invaded the pitch once they discovered the news later on during the match.
