Fan bids $40,000 to watch Mayweather Jr vs. Pacquiao with Evander Holyfield

A boxing fan has tabled a winning bid to watch this Saturday's showdown between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao with former world champion Evander Holyfield.

The retired American boxer put a fight package up for auction on eBay and one fan was successful with a $40,000 (£26,000) bid.

The package includes a ticket to watch the fight in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena with Holyfield, as well as "deluxe" accommodation at the MGM Grand, a steak dinner with Holyfield before the big event and a year's supply of Quest Nutrition products.

The winning bidder will also have first-class flights to and from Vegas paid for as part of the package.

Money raised from the auction will go to the CharityVision organisation, which helps visually-impaired people in stricken nations.
