Hulk Hogan's daughter Brooke defends wrestler amid race row

Daughter defends Hogan after racist remarks

The daughter of American wrestler Hulk Hogan has jumped to her father's defence after he was dropped by WWE for making racist comments.

The 61-year-old has been in hot water after a 2008 audio recording of him using offensive racist language was leaked by the press in July.

The comments are said to have been made while Hogan was talking about a black man who was sleeping with his daughter Brooke at the time.

Despite Hogan's use of the racist language, Brooke has backed her father by telling Entertainment Tonight: "He's not racist. It's just when you're mad and you're at the lowest point in your life - you just choose ill-fitting words for that situation just to air your shorts out.

"I feel bad for my dad, but I also feel bad for the African-American fans and stuff because they don't know that he didn't mean it."

Hogan has apologised for the comments.
