Former Another Level singer Dane Bowers joins Cwmbran Celtic FC

Former boyband member Dane Bowers has given up the microphone for a pair of football boots to join Cwmbran Celtic FC.

The 32-year-old, who was a member of British group Another Level, made his first appearance for the Welsh Division One side last night. He came off the bench to see out the game, which finished in a 3-1 defeat to Marshfield in the Newport and District League clash.

Chairman of Cwmbran Celtic, Bob Smith, told the South Wales Argus: "He made his debut at home on Saturday. He was on the bench for the reserves on Saturday, but he did end up playing.

"Hopefully he will enjoy his stay with us. He's a nice lad. Perhaps joining Cwmbran Celtic will take his career to Another Level."

Bowers, who recorded a song called 'Out of Your Mind' with former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham in 2000, has featured on Celebrity Big Brother and Celebrity Come Dine With Me since moving away from the music scene.
