Tom Daley stranded by storms

Tom Daley has had to ask his mother to drive from Plymouth to London after discovering that the current UK storms had led to his train being cancelled.

The Olympic bronze medal-winning diver arrived back in the UK earlier today, but was unable to continue his journey home for Christmas because of the travel disruption.

The 19-year-old told the Daily Mail: "My train was cancelled so my mum's going to have to pick me up from Plymouth which is going to take ages.

"You have to take it all in the Christmas spirit, it's Christmas. I got off a night flight this morning from America so I want to go home and go to bed."

Daley had reportedly been spending time in Texas with his film producer boyfriend Dustin Lance Black prior to his return to the UK for the festive period.
