Olympic diver Tom Daley: 'I never thought I would marry a man'

Olympic diver Tom Daley has admitted that he did not think that he would one day marry a man.

The 21-year-old announced his engagement to Oscar-winning American director Dustin Lance Black last month.

Daley, who is 20 years Black's junior, revealed via a YouTube video in December 2013 that he was in a same-sex relationship.

The couple are now planning to marry, but Daley has admitted that he did not grow up thinking that he would fall in love with a man.

"Marriage is a sign of commitment between two people and something I always thought would happen when I was a kid," Daley told ES Magazine. "I didn't know it would be with a man, but here he is."

Daley won Olympic bronze at London 2012.
