Slovakian cyclist Peter Sagan apologises for bum-pinch

Slovakian cyclist Peter Sagan has apologised for pinching the bottom of a flower girl while on the podium for the Ronde of Fanders classic.

The 23-year-old made the inappropriate move on Maja Leye while she kissed winner Fabian Cancellara on the cheek on Sunday.

Via a video message on YouTube, Sagan said: "I sincerely apologise to Maja for what I did on the podium yesterday after the race because it was wrong of me. I never should have done it.

"I am so sorry and I hope that Maja and anyone else I have offended knows how sorry I am and accept my apology. I promise to act more respectfully in the future."

Sagan came second in the race.
