Boxer Orlando Cruz proposes to boyfriend on Facebook

Openly gay professional boxer Orlando Cruz has proposed to his boyfriend on Facebook.

The Puerto Rican, who revealed his sexuality last October, posted a two-minute video on the social media site, asking long-term partner Jose Manuel to marry him.

The 32-year-old featherweight said: "Through the ups and downs we've had, you've always been there for [me]. I'm a little bit nervous, but that aside, I want to tell you and share with your friends and my friends that if you want to marry me?

"I want to share my life with you and want to be with you always, and support you 100%, and you support me 100%. I like you a lot, I love you and I look forward to your answer."

Manuel responded in a video of his own: "I want to tell you, yes, I do accept and would like to marry you, because I love you. I'm a bit emotional. I didn't expect to find your proposal posted to Facebook."

Cruz will fight Orlando Salido in a world title fight in Las Vegas in October.
