Stan Collymore to join BBC's 'Match of the Day 2' as guest pundit

Stan Collymore announces that he will be a guest pundit on the BBC's Match of the Day 2 next season.

Former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker Stan Collymore has confirmed that he has teamed up with BBC's football highlights and analysis show Match of the Day 2.

The 43-year-old, who works for radio station talkSPORT, will act as a guest pundit for the programme next season.

Collymore wrote on Twitter: "Delighted to have been asked to guest on BBC #MOTD2 next season! Radio schedule willing! Come on!!"

Gary Lineker, who hosts flagship show Match of the Day, responded to the news on the social networking site by tweeting: "Welcome to the club."

Meanwhile, regular pundit Alan Hansen will leave his role on the BBC show after this summer's World Cup in Brazil.
