Clubs to hold silence for air crash victims

The Football League has announced that all clubs taking part in the Capital One Cup this week will hold a minute's silence for the victims of the Shoreham air crash.

Eleven people are thought to have died when a Hawker Hunter plane, which was performing at the Shoreham Airshow, plummeted into the A27 on Saturday after failing to complete a loop.

Footballers Jacob Schilt and Matthew Grimstone, who played for Worthing United, are among the fatalities.

On Twitter, the Football League confirmed that before kickoff in this week's Capital One Cup games, a minute's silence will be held as a sign of remembrance.
