BT Sport eye BBC's John Murray for commentator role?

BT Sport reportedly eye BBC Radio Five Live's John Murray as their chief football commentator next season.

BT Sport have reportedly placed BBC Radio Five Live football commentator John Murray on the top of their wishlist for next season's coverage.

The broadcasters have already snapped up former BBC Formula 1 host Jake Humphrey, who signed a four-year-deal with the new station.

It is understood that BT Sport now want Murray, who is the main football commentator on BBC radio every Saturday, to join their venture, according to the Daily Mail.

BT secured the rights to show 38 live games a season for three years in a reported £738m package.
