BT Sport to produce own Champions League coverage?

BT Sport is reportedly planning to produce its own coverage of the Champions League from next season.

BT Sport is reportedly planning to take its coverage of the Champions League and Europa League in-house when it gains the rights to the competitions next season.

Production company Sunset+Vine currently produces the broadcaster's flagship live Premier League coverage but according to Broadcast, BT is looking at doing the job itself when it becomes the exclusive UK home of the elite European tournaments next season.

BT currently produces a limited amount of its output in-house, including Conference football and live tennis coverage, but the rumoured move would represent a significant investment in its production infrastructure to rival that of Sky and the BBC.

The three-year deal with UEFA has cost BT around £900m.
