Bruno returns to hospital with depression

Former boxer Frank Bruno has reportedly returned to hospital in order to be treated for 'severe depression'.

The 53-year-old Brit, who won the WBC heavyweight title in 1995, has been battling bipolar disorder for the past 12 years.

Bruno was due to attend a dinner in Lincoln today to discuss his career, but pulled out due to his struggles.

"After a very busy period Frank decided to seek medical assistance to help with a severe bout of depression," The Mirror quotes Bruno's spokesman Dave Davies as saying.

The retired sportsman has been sectioned three times in the past 12 years.
