Botham becomes 'Boss of Beef'

Former England cricket captain Sir Ian Botham has signed up to become the 'Boss of Beef' for restaurant chain Beefeater.

The 57-year-old has posed as a number of iconic bosses in a series of photographs to mark the start of his new role, which will begin this summer.

One picture shows the ex-cricketer dressed in a black suit pointing his finger to say Lord Alan Sugar's famous phrase "you're fired", while in another Botham poses as Marlon Brando's character in The Godfather.

"Not only have I been given a great role as the 'Boss of Beef' this summer, I've been able to relive some of the most famed bosses of all time, giving me a glimpse of what it takes to be the boss," The Mirror quotes Botham as saying.

"As a food lover myself, coming on board with Beefeater couldn't be more fitting - we both love a good steak and a great celebration."

Botham also turned himself into Ricky Gervais's character David Brent from The Office during his photoshoot.
