Blatter effigy set alight on Bonfire Night

A giant effigy of FIFA president Sepp Blatter was set alight on Bonfire Night on Thursday as he continues to be dogged by corruption allegations.

The sculpture of Blatter, who has been suspended for 90 days while the authorities investigate an alleged "disloyal" payment that he made to UEFA president Michel Platini, was paraded through Lewes in East Sussex.

On Saturday, an 11-metre effigy of Blatter holding the World Cup, a ball and a box of bank notes will go up in flames in Edenbridge in Kent.

Artist Frank Shepherd created the sculpture.
