David Beckham named most stylish man at GQ Men Of The Year Awards

Retired footballer David Beckham was named the most stylish man at the GQ Men Of The Year Awards in Berlin, Germany.

The 38-year-old, whose wife Victoria is a fashion designer, personally accepted the award at the ceremony in the city's Komishe Oper on Thursday evening.

"Like no other athlete, David Beckham represents style and fashion influence," GQ Editor-in-Chief Jose Redondo Vega said.

"With his trendsetting and sometimes daring appearances he has created a bridge between the world of design, models, and photographers, and the world of world-class sports, and brought glamour back to a male sport."

Beckham retired from football at the end of last season following a five-month stint at Paris Saint-Germain.
