Beckham: 'I don't want an acting career'

Former England footballer David Beckham has clarified that he does not want to begin a career in acting, despite reports suggesting otherwise.

Recently, the ex-Manchester United star hinted that he intended to embark on a career in Hollywood, but now, the 40-year-old has claimed that his acting roles are just for fun.

Beckham had a cameo in Guy Ritchie's film The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and will also appear in the upcoming Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur.

"It's something that I've dipped myself into from time to time, but I only did it for a friend, Guy," Beckham said in an interview with Mr Porter. "I did a small bit in The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and I've done little bit more for him, but it's definitely not my new career, it's just fun - it's not something that I'm training to be better at."

Beckham retired from football in 2013.
