The BBC are reportedly considering appointing former Radio Four newsreader Charlotte Green to read the classified football results following the retirement of James Alexander Gordon.
Gordon announced last month that he would no longer be carrying out his duties for BBC Radio Five Live following a throat surgery.
The BBC are looking for a woman to take on the role, with Green currently at the top of the list, according to the Daily Mail.
Gordon held the post for almost 40 years.
