BBC investigate misspelled name gaffe

The BBC apologise and launch an investigation after referring to Wales lock Jake Ball as 'Jake Ballsack'.

The BBC have launched an investigation after the surname of a rugby player appeared on their website as "Ballsack" ahead of this weekend's Autumn Internationals.

Wales lock Jake Ball was part of Warren Gatland's team for their game against Australia, but was listed as "Jake Ballsack" in an article revealing the teams.

After teammate Jamie Roberts was among those to spot the gaffe, a BBC spokeswoman said: "We are investigating how this error occurred and the piece was amended as soon as it was spotted. We apologise for any offence that may have been caused."

Ball has since written on Twitter that he expects the name will "haunt" him.
