Darren Barker wants burglars "taught a lesson" after Anthony Crolla attack

Barker wants justice for Crolla

Retired middleweight boxer Darren Barker has claimed that he feels "gutted" for Anthony Crolla after the British lightweight was attacked by burglars.

The 28-year-old suffered a fractured skull when one of two burglars hit the boxer on the head with a "brick or concrete slab" after he confronted them.

On Twitter, Barker wrote: "Gutted to hear what happened to @ant_crolla speedy recovery pal and I hope those dirty bastards get found and taught a lesson!"

Promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that Crolla, who also suffered a broken ankle, is in a "stable condition" in Oldham hospital.
