Afghanistan boss 'stabbed in attack'

Afghanistan football team manager Yousuf Kargar is reportedly in hospital after he was stabbed repeatedly near to his home in Kabul.

The 52-year-old is said to have been returning to his property after attending a wedding when he was attacked.

It is believed that Kargar, who played for the Afghanistan national team during his career in the 1970s, suffered wounds to his back and the back of his head.

According to 101greatgoals.com, police official Rohullah Khan told reporters: "The attackers stabbed Kargar in the back. He underwent surgery at a private hospital and is now in stable condition."

In 2013, Kargar guided the team to the South Asian Football Federation title.
