Adam Johnson's sister denies party rumours

Adam Johnson's sister has denied reports that the footballer held an all-night party at his mansion over the weekend.

Pictures published in newspapers on Sunday showed a barefooted woman and a male friend leaving Johnson's house early on Saturday, prompting rumours that Johnson had held a party as he awaits sentencing for child sex crimes.

Earlier this month the former Sunderland winger was found guilty of penetrating a 15-year-old girl with his fingers and could face as much as ten years behind bars when sentenced on March 24.

In a post on the 'Adam Johnson Appeal Fight' Facebook page, Faye Johnson wrote: "Just to confirm, there was NO party! Do you really think we would be having a party at times like this?"

Johnson was found not guilty of a charge of oral sex in the trial at Bradford Crown Court.
