Almost 150 ex-footballers 'serving time in prisons'

Almost 150 former footballers are reportedly serving time in prisons.

A report has revealed that almost 150 former professional footballers are serving time in prisons.

It is believed that the majority of ex-players are behind bars after falling into trouble following release from their respective clubs.

The findings show that most turn to crime or fall into drug addiction as well as depression and financial problems, according to the Daily Star.

It has been claimed that 700 footballers have been left out of work following the close of the season last month.
