Spikes pleads guilty to hit-and-run

Former New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes has pleaded guilty to a hit-and-run crash that injured three people.

After appearing in court on Wednesday, Spikes admitted negligent operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene, operating an uninsured vehicle and speeding.

The former Buffalo Bills player will serve a year of probation, as his attorney revealed that the 27-year-old wanted to take responsibility for his actions.

Spikes also received a fine, and will spend time at driving education classes before returning to court later in the year.

The Patriots cut Spikes after the incident, and there have been no reports that he has received any other offers as of yet.
