New England Patriots star Vince Wilfork helps rescue woman from crash

New England Patriots player Vince Wilfork rescued a woman from a car accident just hours after helping his side reach the Super Bowl.

New England Patriots player Vince Wilfork helped pull a woman from a car accident just hours after his side secured their place at the Super Bowl.

The 33-year-old played in the team's 45-7 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, but shortly afterwards helped a woman after her car rolled over in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

According to reports, Wilfork pulled 38-year-old Mary Ellen Brooks out of the vehicle before police arrived at around 12.45am.

"Through football and the course of life, I've learned to try to stay poised in certain situations and I'm pretty sure she was kind of scared," Wilfork told ESPN.

"The last thing I wanted to do was have her panic, and that was the first thing I told her, 'Don't panic. We'll get you out of here.' We got her out, the cops came and that was about it."

The Patriots will face the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl.
