Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has appeared in court on a murder charge.
The 23-year-old was arrested at his home in Massachusetts this morning and was released by the AFC East champions shortly after.
As well as being accused of causing the death of semi-professional American football player Odin Lloyd, Hernandez is charged with five gun-related offences.
He has pleaded not guilty to all six charges.
