Bradley Wiggins's Olympic throne to be auctioned

Wiggins's throne to be auctioned

The golden throne which Bradley Wiggins sat in following his victory in the Olympic time trial is going under the hammer.

The seat will by auctioned off at Sotheby's on November 6, and is expected to sell for between £10,000 and £15,000.

Three thrones were commissioned for the events at Hampton Court Palace for the medal winners in each contest.

Winning the time trial at London 2012 gave Wiggins his fourth Olympic gold, less than a fortnight after becoming the first Briton to win the Tour de France.
