Sterling 'charged with motoring offence'

Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling has reportedly been charged with failing to tell the DVLA that he had sold a car.

The news comes after the 18-year-old pleaded not guilty to allegedly assaulting his girlfriend Shana Halliday.

Wirral Magistrates' Court heard that Sterling refrained from completing the documents on the sale of a Mercedes Benz ML350 Sport Station Wagon, and could face a fine of £1,000 if found guilty, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The case was adjourned until September 23.
