Liverpool to launch official Chinese website

Liverpool announce plans to reach out to their supporters in China by launching an official website in the local language.

Liverpool have announced plans to reach out to their supporters in China by launching an official website in the local language.

The decision has come as part of a partnership formed between the Premier League club and Chinese website Hupu.com, who together will launch the site in January.

Chief media officer Matthew Baxter said: "This is a very exciting time for Liverpool FC as we see China as a key market in terms of the club's international expansion.

"We have a passionate fan base in China which is growing at an extraordinary rate and we believe this new website will help enhance the relationship between the club and our Chinese fans."

The partnership was announced by Liverpool and HUPU officials at the HUPU International Sport Marketing Summit in Shanghai this week.
