Francis Benali mocks Liverpool transfers with 'chair sale'

Former Southampton defender Francis Benali jokes that he could sell an old chair to Liverpool for £8m if it had the Saints' club crest on it.

Former Southampton defender Francis Benali has mocked Liverpool's transfer window activities by suggesting that he could sell a chair to the club if he put the Saints' crest on it.

Nathaniel Clyne completed the switch from St Mary's to Anfield earlier this week, becoming the fourth player to make the move in the last 12 months.

The 46-year-old tweeted that he had managed to sell a chair to Brendan Rodgers for £8m after sticking the Southampton badge to it:


Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren all joined Liverpool from Southampton last summer.
