Steven Gerrard's wife Alex "can't wait" to move to Los Angeles

Steven Gerrard's wife Alex has admitted that she "can't wait" to start a new life in Los Angeles with the Liverpool captain and their family.

The former England skipper will move to the United States in the summer after agreeing a deal with MLS side LA Galaxy.

During a recent house-hunting trip to LA, Alex told The Mirror: "I can't wait to move here. He has an 18-month deal, but I hope he gets it extended because it's great here. I'd love to stay here longer. It's so different to ­Liverpool, but I think we'll be really happy."

However, the mother-of-three has admitted that she has struggled to convince her 10-year-old daughter Lilly-Ella to get excited about the move.

"She's like 'oh no, I don't want to go, I don't want to leave my friends'," Alex added. "It's been a bit difficult trying to persuade her, but once she's here I'm sure she'll love it, I know she will."

The couple are also parents to Lexie, eight, and three-year-old Lourdes.
