Euro 2016 licence snapped up by 'PES' maker Konami

Euro 2016 licence snapped up by Konami

PES developer Konami has snapped up the official licence for Euro 2016.

It is unclear whether the studio plans to make a standalone game based on the tournament, or introduce it to PES 2016 via a downloadable add-on.

"We are extremely proud to be working with UEFA regarding Euro 2016," said Erik Bladinieres of Konami in a statement.

"The PES series is famed for showing football at its very best and is created by a team that truly loves and understands it."

Konami, which is launching PES 2016 for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC next month, will reveal further details about its plans for the Euro 2016 licence early next year.
