Ebbsfleet's Phil Walsh, who is the brother-in-law of Frasier star Kelsey Grammer, asks the American actor to watch him play against Carlisle in the FA Cup first round tomorrow.

Frasier star Kelsey Grammer has been asked by his brother-in-law Phil Walsh to support him while he plays for Ebbsfleet against Carlisle in the FA Cup first round tomorrow.

The American actor, who is married to Walsh's sister Kayte - 25 years Grammer's junior - has arrived in England to attend a family funeral in Hartlepool.

"Kelsey and my sister will be at the funeral for my grandma Margaret and I'll join them there before catching up with the rest of the team at our Penrith hotel," Walsh told The Sun.

"I'm hoping Kelsey will then be able to come up to Carlisle and watch me play. I shall leave some tickets out for them and it'll be nice to have some family support.

"I've spoken to Kelsey about football and know he enjoys the game. As a boy he played. His game is baseball now but if he knows I'm playing he might be able to make the journey."

The fleet will go up against Carlisle at their home ground of Brunton Park.
