Chester FC defender tucks into Jaffa Cakes during FA Cup tie

Chester FC defender Gareth Roberts was in need of an energy boost during his side's FA Cup meeting with Barnsley in the week, helping himself to an in-game snack.

Chester FC defender Gareth Roberts required an energy boost during his side's FA Cup second-round replay against Barnsley earlier this week, being caught on camera chomping his way through a pack of Jaffa Cakes.

The 36-year-old, who began his career with a five-year stint at Liverpool, was warned by referee Keith Hill that he he could not continue to eat the in-game snack, before dishing them out to his fellow teammates.

Chester went on to lose the game 3-0 at the Deva Stadium.
