Lionel Messi's father Jorge accused of money laundering?

Lionel Messi's father Jorge is reportedly investigated by the Spanish tax authorities regarding alleged money laundering.

Lionel Messi's father Jorge has been accused of being at the centre of an alleged money laundering investigation involving Colombian drug traffickers.

It has been claimed in an article by El Mundo that the Barcelona star's father has been questioned by the Spanish tax authorities regarding the 'Friends of Messi' charity matches in the summer.

Reports have accused Jorge of being in contact with Colombian cartels, who are said to have set up umbrella companies, claiming that they had sold a number of front row tickets at the charity match to people who were not planning to attend, but preferred to pay for the seats to benefit the charity.

According to 101greatgoals.com, the report stated that Messi's father tried to get 10-20% of the profit from the drug traffickers on behalf of Barcelona stars, including his son, Daniel Alves, Javier Mascherano and Jose Pinto.

The four players have denied any knowledge of these allegations.
