Lady Gaga hid for days before Baku performance

The coordinator of the opening ceremony at the European Games in Baku has revealed that Lady Gaga hid in a hotel room for days in order to keep her appearance at the event secret.

The Grammy Award-winning singer performed the John Lennon song 'Imagine' during the opening ceremony at the Olympic Stadium in Azerbaijan yesterday.

According to The AP, Catherine Ugwu said that the organisers had to "work very hard on keeping it a secret", and that the 29-year-old "was kind enough to stay in a hotel and not move for several days".

The ceremony also featured the parade of athletes, as well as performances representing Azerbaijan's culture.
