British man 'stitched betting device in shorts' at Australian Open

A 22-year-old British man reportedly stitched a device in his shorts to carry out alleged illegal betting courtside at the Australian Open.

A British man has reportedly been accused of stitching a device into his shorts in an attempt to carry out a betting offence at the Australian Open.

Daniel Dobson was charged with one count of engaging in conduct that would corrupt a betting outcome yesterday in Melbourne.

According to the Daily Mail, it has been alleged in Melbourne Magistrates' Court that the 22-year-old stitched a device into his clothing to transmit scores to an international betting company courtside, in a bid to beat the 10-second delay in television coverage.

It has been claimed that two more British men could also face the charges.
