Loughborough Lightning announce return of Olivia Murphy as assistant coach

Loughborough Lightning announce the return of former England international Olivia Murphy as assistant coach.

Loughborough Lightning have announced the return of Olivia Murphy to the coaching staff for next season's Netball Superleague.

Murphy, who became player-coach and coach after a stint as team captain back in 2006, has been appointed as assistant coach to Karen Atkinson.

"Loughborough has been a very special place for myself and Karen," Sky Sports News quotes Murphy as saying. "I hope we can create some more memories for everyone included in Lightning. It's going to take some time and hard work but I look forward to the challenge!"

Murphy, who is a former England international, spent six years with the team in her first stint at Lightning.
