Priaulx switches to European Le Mans Series

Guernsey racing driver Andy Priaulx has confirmed that he will compete in the European Le Mans Series next year.

The 40-year-old, who is a three-time World Touring Car champion, will work with BMW after racing in the United SportsCar Championship in America this year.

"I always embrace a new challenge and am proud to be heading up BMW's works team in this exciting series," BBC Sport quotes Priaulx as saying.

"Although I know all of the circuits on the calendar, it will not make things any easier as I know there is some fierce competition out there. However, I am confident that the BMW Z4 GTE is more than up to the challenge."

Priaulx, who previously spent two years in the DTM series in Germany, will race from April to September next year.
