Alex Marquez: 'A 2015 MotoGP move impossible for me'

Alex Marquez says that it would have been "impossible" for him to move directly to MotoGP after winning the Moto3 title.

Moto3 world champion Alex Marquez has admitted that it would be "impossible" for him to surge up to MotoGP for the 2015 season.

The 18-year-old, who is the younger brother of MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez, scooped the Moto3 crown last month.

"I think for me it was impossible to go directly to MotoGP because it is the wrong way for me," Marquez told MCN.

"The best option for me is to make two years in Moto2 and this was always my best plan and then if I have an offer in MotoGP I will go. But I have a lot of things to learn in Moto2, so I think step-by-step is best for my future."

The Spaniard also won the Moto3 title back in 2012.
