Andrea Dovizioso takes pole in MotoGP season opener

Andrea Dovizioso will start in pole position in tomorrow's season-opening MotoGP race in Qatar.

The Ducati rider left it late in final qualifying, setting a time of 1:54.11 to beat Honda's Dani Pedrosa by 0.22 seconds.

The Honda duo of Pedrosa and Marc Marquez finished second and third respectively with times of 1:54.33 and 1:54.44.

Dovizioso's teammate Andrea Iannone will start in fourth, with Britons Bradley Smith, Cal Crutchlow and Scott Redding starting in seventh, 12th and 14th respectively.
