Alex Ovechkin backs Russia's offence against Finland

Alex Ovechkin believes that the Russian Federation should have enough in attack against Finland on Wednesday.

Russian Federation forward Alex Ovechkin has urged calm from his side ahead of their quarter-final clash against Finland on Wednesday.

The Russians beat Norway in the qualification playoff on Tuesday and, while the NHL MVP has only scored once so far, Ovechkin said that they should have too much for the Finns.

"Everybody knows we have such a good, talented team on offence," BBC Sport quotes Ovechkin as saying.

"We just try to keep our energy, and keep our emotions [in check]. Tomorrow we're going to need emotions and strength for the quarter-finals against Finland."

Alexander Radulov scored twice in the win over Norway.
