GB women lose final hockey group game

Team GB's women have lost their final Group A match but have still qualified for the semi-finals thanks to China's defeat to Japan earlier in the day.

Great Britain were edged out by the Netherlands after taking the lead in a very close encounter.

Crista Cullen opened the scoring towards the end of the first half from a penalty corner and were looking good to ruin the Dutch players' 100% record.

However, a strong second half from the Netherlands gave them their fifth win from five.

Naomi van As scored a penalty corner of her own seven minutes into the half and Kitty van Male scored what turned out to be the winner on 52 minutes.

It was a good performance for Great Britain who now have a realistic chance of securing a medal.
