Chris Froome has secured the yellow jersey for Team Sky in the 100th edition of the Tour de France.

The Kenya-born rider becomes Britain's second winner after Sir Bradley Wiggins triumphed in last year's race.

He crossed the line arm in arm with his teammates, finishing the 21-stage race in a total time of 83 hours 56 minutes and 40 seconds - four minutes and 20 seconds ahead of his nearest rival Nairo Quintana.

It was Marcel Kittel who claimed his fourth win in the Parisian twilight, beating Mark Cavendish and Andre Greipel in a thrilling sprint finish down the Champs-Elysees.

The 'Manx Missile' had never before been beaten in this stage.
