Tour de France to be pulled from UCI schedule?

Reports claim that the Tour de France could be withdrawn from the cycling's governing body's schedule in 2016, following a dispute with the race organisers.

The Tour de France could be withdrawn from UCI's schedule next year, according to reports.

The governing body is in a dispute with Tour organisers Amaury Sport Organisation due to a lack of progress in its reform programme, claims Reuters.

A source said that ASO sent a letter to UCI threatening to withdraw from the 2016 calendar if reforms do not go ahead but it would not be a threat to the staging of the Tour.

ASO also own the Paris-Roubaix, Liege-Bastogne-Liege, Paris-Nice and the Criterium du Dauphine.
