Luke Rowe "over the moon" after being named in Team Sky's Tour de France squad

Luke Rowe has admitted that he feels "over the moon" to have been included in Team Sky's squad for next month's Tour de France.

The cyclist's inclusion, as well as that of Geraint Thomas, means that Wales will have two representatives in the elite race for the first time.

In addition, Rowe is only the third Welshman to take part in the race after Thomas and Colin Lewis, who competed in the 1968 and 1969 Tours.

"I'm over the moon, I suppose," BBC Sport quotes Rowe as saying. "All season it's been the big aim for me to get a place in the team and to finally be secure and be representing that nine is a big honour."

The race begins on July 4 in Utrecht, Netherlands.
