Chris Froome confident ahead of final two mountain stages

Chris Froome has insisted that he does not expect to suffer the same problems which threatened to derail his 2013 Tour de France campaign.

The Team Sky rider currently leads the race by three minutes and 10 seconds ahead of two Alpine summit finishes, and he is confident of retaining a comfortable advantage after struggling at the same stage in his first triumph two years ago.

"We're getting towards the end now, with two short mountain stages left, but it's still going to be hard. I'm in good shape and happy with how I'm feeling," he told Team Sky's official website.

"I was struggling a bit at this point two years ago, whereas this time around I'm much more confident."

Team Sky could still finish with two riders on the podium as Geraint Thomas, who currently occupies fourth spot, continues his fine race in support of Froome.
