Chris Froome: 'I will never dishonour the yellow jersey'

Chris Froome has said that he will "never dishonour" the yellow jersey, after winning his second title at the Tour de France.

The 30-year-old finished 72 seconds ahead of Nairo Quintana on Sunday to become the first British man to win the race twice.

However, his victory has been marred by allegations of doping from the French media, which saw him physically abused throughout the tour by spectators.

"The yellow jersey is very special," BBC Sport quotes Froome as saying. "I will always respect it and never dishonour it."

Froome's winning margin in this year's race was the narrowest since Carlos Sastre beat Cadel Evans by 58 seconds in 2008.
